Alameda Electric is the largest regional electrical distributor in Northern California. They needed an attractive, intuitive website that represented their status as an industry leader. I also created a site for their sister company, California Service Tool (screen shots to come). The two sites are cohesive while maintaining their unique brand identity.

Widget:

The North American Association of Commencement Officers (NAACO) wanted a modern, inviting site to complement their new logo and brand identity. NAACO puts a lot of emphasis on their many sponsors. To highlight their corporate partners I included a continuously scrolling display of logos in the footer as well as a rotating image widget in the sidebar. All widgets on the homepage and sidebar are fully customizable through an intuitive back-end.

Like much of the internet, I’ve become enamored by infographics — reading them, creating them, reading about them.   Creating an infographic, however, requires extensive research, planning and time. I find myself moving onto a new topic before I’ve finished gathering data for the last one.

There’s one topic for which I already have all the data : ME — and more specifically, my day. In the first of the series, I used various facts that best captured the last 24 hours of my life. How many miles I ran, what I ate, what I saw, what I heard, what stuck with me, what the weather was like. Each infographic entry will have it’s own flavor to match my mood and impression of the day (or week or weekend or event). It will serve as an excellent, regular design exercise.
