Using CitiBike data from June 2015, I compared the destination station for Customers (Citi Bike’s term for weekly and daily pass holders) and Subscribers (yearly pass holders). Weekly and daily passes can be purchased from any CitiBike kiosk, while the year pass is a key that must be ordered and mailed to the rider. I assumed most daily and weekly riders would be visitors and therefore travel to sites popular with tourists. It makes sense that yearly pass holders would be locals who use the bikes to travel to work or other errands. You can see the rides are more evenly distributed in the yearly view, but Penn Station and Grand Central Station are still the most popular destinations.
